The Fulham Walnut Island Kitchen

The Design

This beautiful project has excited the whole team! The clients bought their home 10 years ago and had always planned to update the kitchen when the time was right. The space was very dated and everything was blue, so we helped to make it work better for them.

“There was a side return that did not use the full width of the space so I wanted to maximise the space and open it up as well as upgrade the cabinetry and style!  The quality and craftsmanship is fantastic and it was amazing to watch it be installed. The considerations of the practicality and storage solutions is also one my favourite things as I love everything to have a home.'“

The client has great style all on her own. She chose to follow her heart and went for this beautiful marble which really does make this space extra special.

I mostly had a clear vision of what I wanted but I was in two minds about choosing marble (for its beauty) or something more practical and harder wearing but I followed my heart and went with a beautiful marble with amazing veining and colours and have absolutely no regrets as I think it makes the space. 

The bespoke cabinetry was designed with our client and is our traditional Westminster door, handmade in our workshop. The walnut island is extra special, as it is not something we always see. Walnut is a beautiful material to work with.

“It’s been lovely as it feels bigger, more organised as I can find everything easily, and the space is more sociable. I like being able to eat at the table when there’s more people or it’s a more formal occasion but it’s great to sit at the counter on the barstools for breakfast or more casual eating.”

When we asked the client what their favourite part of the new space is, they told us

Honestly I love it all, from the island, the breakfast bar, the pantry cupboard as well as the induction hob with built in extractor…but if I had to choose one I would have to say the island. I had always wanted this to provide a more social space with barstools and one that allowed better circulation. And I also LOVE the marble!

The Details: Colours, Handles & Bespoke Details

The kitchen and pantry cabinetry is painted in Cathedral Stone and the island is in Walnut. The handles are Armac Martin the Cotswold knob, cup and bar handle, which look great together. The client has a Miele hob and Neff ovens.

We absolutely love how this project has all come together and wish the client a lifetime of happy memories in their new beautiful space.
