1. About Us
This website is operated by Herringbone Kitchens Ltd, trading as Herringbone House (“we”, “our”, “us”), a company registered in England and Wales under company number 09009790, with its registered office at 12-13 Sun Street, Canterbury CT1 2HZ.
Our VAT registration number is GB187110906.
By placing an order through our website, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. For any questions regarding your order, please contact us at shop@herringbonehouse.com.
These Terms & Conditions apply to orders placed through our online Shop. Separate terms apply to bespoke kitchen and interior design commissions arranged directly with our design studio.
2. Products
We take great care to ensure that product descriptions, dimensions, specifications and photography are accurate.
As many of our products are crafted using natural materials, slight variations in colour, grain, texture and finish should be expected and are considered part of the character of the product rather than defects.
While we make every effort to display colours accurately, we cannot guarantee that colours shown on screen will exactly match the finished product. We recommend ordering a sample before committing to a full order. Some room photography on our website shows a wallpaper or fabric design added digitally to a real Herringbone House project, to help you picture it in a finished space. In these images, colour, scale and pattern repeat may not be perfectly true to life.
Our wallpaper calculator is provided as a helpful guide only. We recommend confirming your final quantities with a decorator or tradesperson before ordering, and we are not responsible for over- or under-ordering based on its estimate.
3. Pricing
All prices are displayed in Pounds Sterling (£) and include VAT where applicable.
We reserve the right to amend prices at any time without notice. Any price changes will not affect orders already accepted by us.
Delivery charges are shown separately during checkout. Fabric is always shipped on a full roll to protect the material; because our couriers charge an additional handling fee for parcels of this kind, fabric orders carry an additional large-item delivery charge, shown at checkout.
4. Payment
Payment must be received in full before goods are dispatched or production begins.
We accept major debit and credit cards together with approved online payment providers as displayed during checkout.
5. Order Acceptance
Following placement of an order, you will receive an order confirmation email acknowledging receipt of your order.
This confirmation does not constitute acceptance of your order. A contract between us is formed only when we dispatch the goods or commence production of a made-to-order item.
We reserve the right to refuse or cancel any order where:
• Payment cannot be authorised
• Pricing errors have occurred
• Products become unavailable
• Fraudulent activity is suspected
6. Made-to-Order & Bespoke Products
Every Herringbone House product is made to order once you place your order, nothing in our range is held as pre-made stock. Lead times are estimates only and may vary due to material availability, supplier schedules or circumstances outside our control.
Because they are made specifically for you, the following cannot be returned unless faulty:
• Wallpaper and fabric, printed or woven to order
• Table linen and samples, cut, printed or sewn to order
• Made-to-order furniture, including our Forever Pieces range
• Made-to-order or personalised hardware
• Made-to-order flooring
• Art prints, produced to order as part of a signed, limited edition
Because production begins promptly once an order is placed, orders cannot be cancelled once accepted, other than in accordance with Section 5.
This does not affect your statutory rights where goods are faulty, damaged or not as described.
7. Delivery
Delivery estimates are provided in good faith but are not guaranteed. We currently deliver within the United Kingdom only.
We shall not be liable for delays caused by couriers, manufacturers, customs processes, adverse weather conditions or events beyond our reasonable control.
Customers are responsible for ensuring that delivery details are accurate, and that adequate access is available for larger items such as furniture.
Additional delivery charges may apply where delivery attempts fail due to customer error or restricted access. Risk in the goods passes to you upon delivery.
8. Inspection of Goods
Customers should inspect goods promptly upon delivery. Any visible damage, shortages or incorrect items should be reported within 48 hours of receipt.
Failure to notify us within a reasonable timeframe may affect our ability to pursue claims against carriers.
9. Returns & Refunds
Because every product is made to order, please see Section 6 for our cancellation policy. There is no general change-of-mind return right on our online Shop.
Where a return is agreed at our discretion, or is required to resolve a fault, goods must be:
• Unused
• Complete
• In their original packaging
• In a resaleable condition
Customers are responsible for return shipping costs unless goods are faulty, damaged or supplied incorrectly.
Refunds will be processed within 14 days of receipt of returned goods or evidence of return.
10. Faulty Goods
Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Where a product is faulty, damaged or not as described, please contact us as soon as possible.
We may request photographs and additional information to assist with our investigation. Where appropriate, we may offer repair, replacement, partial refund or full refund in accordance with applicable consumer legislation.
11. Intellectual Property
All content appearing on this website, including text, photography, graphics, logos, product descriptions and designs, is the property of Herringbone House or its licensors. No content may be reproduced, copied or distributed without prior written permission.
12. Limitation of Liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for:
• Death or personal injury caused by negligence
• Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation
• Any liability which cannot be excluded by law
Subject to the above, our liability shall be limited to the purchase price of the goods supplied.
13. Privacy
Any personal information submitted through this website shall be handled in accordance with our Privacy & Security Policy.
14. Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
