The Fulham Riverside Kitchen

The Fulham Riverside Kitchen

The Design

After moving back to her London flat, our client knew it was time for a change. “The kitchen was 25 years old,” she said. “It had served its time, but it was definitely ready for something new.”

Although the kitchen’s footprint didn’t allow for dramatic changes, the feel of the space has been completely transformed. “It’s a tiny kitchen, so there weren’t many possibilities to change the layout, but I wouldn’t really want to anyway.”

When it came to choosing a kitchen company, she was drawn to Herringbone House’s ethos and approach. “I decided to go with Herringbone because you’re a small family company, and I really liked your attention to detail, your values, and the quality of the work.”

One of the most surprisingly difficult decisions turned out to be the worktop. “I wanted something plain, but not too creamy, and definitely not bright white. Finding the right tone was harder than I expected.” With a compact layout and limited flexibility, the goal was to create something integrated, functional and calm.

The element that brings her the most joy? “The colour Cathedral Stone. I absolutely love how it looks in different lights throughout the day. It feels calming, warm and welcoming.”

Thoughtful details help the space feel personal. “The little shelves on either side of the window, the spice rack inside the larder cupboard and not forgetting the Quooker Cube. They all just work well for how I live.”

The Details: Colours, Handles & Bespoke Details

The client chose Herringbone Paints Cathedral Stone. The handles are beautiful handles are from Armac Martin in satin nickle finish. The appliances are from Miele. The worktop is Dekton 20mm Uyuni Dekton and the cabinetry is in our modern Westminster range.

“It's just a lovely place to be, it functions well and looks beautiful.”

We love this reimagined kitchen. Not through major change, but through considered design, timeless materials, and the quiet joy of getting it just right.
