The Birchington Area Full House Project
The Design
Not every full house project is anchored by a kitchen. In Birchington, the story is told differently, through the quieter, often overlooked elements of a home. The fitted furniture in dressing rooms, studies, boot room, utility shapes how each room is used. This is a project defined entirely by joinery, and the result is a home that feels considered at every level.
Together with their designer David, we worked with the client to make sure their joinery seamlessly worked for each room. Built-in wardrobes shape bedrooms, turning them into calm, uncluttered environments. The study’s are anchored by large desks. The utility also works as a dog bath and bed.
Storage is integrated seamlessly, often disappearing into the architecture rather than sitting on top of it. Enough detail to give each piece presence, but never so much that it competes with the room itself.
The Birchington Area Full House Project is a clear example of what happens when joinery is treated as the foundation of a home rather than an addition to it.
There are no grand gestures here, just a series of well-resolved decisions that, together, transform how the house functions. Storage becomes intuitive. Spaces feel calmer. The home works harder, but appears simpler.
The Details: Colours, Handles & Bespoke Details
The client chose a range of bespoke paint colour for the cabinetry in the project, along with Maple Stock red, Cathedral Stone for the Dressing Room and Walnut for the vanity, all of these soft colours flow perfectly together. Most of the cabinetry is out Westminster range. The handles are beautiful in Burnished Brass from Armac Martin.
“It's just a lovely place to be, it functions well and looks beautiful.”
The renovation has fundamentally changed how the clients use their home. What was once a house in need of transformation has become a warm, inviting environment where entertaining and socialising now sit at the centre of everyday life.
We loved working on this beautiful project together with the family and wish them a lifetime of happiness in their new home.
