Wide Plank lets the timber do the talking, long, generous boards that show off the natural grain, knots and character of real oak, without a repeating pattern to interrupt the view. It's the simplest of our floors and lets a room feel calmer.

Herringbone House flooring begins with responsibly sourced, FSC® 100% European oak, hand-graded to Prime. Because this is a natural material, not a manufactured one, no two boards are ever quite the same and variation in grain and tone is a genuine feature of real wood, not a flaw. It's exactly what gives an oak floor its depth and character, so no two rooms will ever look the same.

  • Every plank is hand-finished from carefully selected Prime FSC® oak.

    Our oak is responsibly sourced from properly managed European forests. Prime is the highest of the recognised oak flooring grades, cut from the heart of the log, with few knots and little sapwood, giving a clean, refined finish. It's rarer to produce than other grades, which is part of why it's prized.

    It's suitable for underfloor heating, and finished with a hardwearing UV hardened oil that can be maintained and refreshed for years to come.

    And the best thing, its all hand-finished in Britain.

    Flooring may be digitally added to a real Herringbone House project for illustration on our website. We always recommend ordering a sample first, to see your chosen finish in daylight.

  • Every board is carefully selected and hand-finished here in Britain, not pulled off a warehouse shelf, a little more waiting, but a better, more considered result.

    Once it's ready, we package it carefully and send it with tracking, so you know exactly when it's arriving.

  • Our flooring is designed for a fully bonded, glue-down installation, which we always recommend for the best long-term performance, especially where underfloor heating is present.

    Before you start: let the flooring acclimatise in the room for at least 48 hours (five days if you have underfloor heating), and make sure the subfloor is clean, dry, level and structurally sound.

    A professional installer will give you the best finish and ensure your structural warranty remains valid, particularly with underfloor heating systems. Please see our full installation guide for details.

  • Because timber is a natural material, please take your time to view your sample in natural daylight, alongside your paint colours and cabinetry, before choosing your finish and lay pattern.
