Holland Park Kitchen

This project was for a young woman with excellent style living in her first home in Holland Park. This project was completed back in 2019 but is still one of our most popular projects, the colours and style are timeless. William, the founder of Herringbone, was the designer for this project.

“The whole process was exactly what you would expect from a small business - personal with real attention to detail. We would particularly like to call out the guys in the workshop and fitters - the cabinets really are beautifully made!” -Emma

Herringbone House Holland Park Bespoke Kitchen Renovation

The project was a complete renovation with the kitchen extension being most important room within the plan. Emma wanted a kitchen that was classic with some contemporary touches and went through many different colour, design and hardware options before landing on this classic tone. Emma knew she wanted lots of storage and an island, but as a basement kitchen, she was nervous about the low ceiling and everything feeling very dark and cramped. To overcome this, William designed a space with different colours and glass cabinets and now '“everyone always comments on how bright the room feels!”

The Details: Colours, Hardware & More

For the main cabinetry, Emma chose a colour similar to our Joiners Box Grey in the Herringbone Paints colour range and lovely Armac Martin hardware in Sparkbrook, one of our most popular handles over the last 10 years.

“We ended up going to the studio twice to look at colours and handles, with completely different outcomes. William and Coco were really patient with our indecisiveness, and really helped us be bold (for us!) with colour - we love the dark island and now strongly recommend our friends to consider more colour!”

The Reeded Glass Cabinetry Run

“We knew we wanted lots of storage, but were also nervous about the kitchen feeling too cluttered and dark with the low ceiling - William presented us with lots of different glass options to keep things light and we love the reeded glass cabinetry we have as a result... there's almost too much storage!”

“We had looked at a few non-bespoke options, but couldn't quite find something that really suited or made the most of our space. We found Herringbone through Instagram, but were initially nervous that they would make kitchens more for their visual impact rather than functional living. However, we needn't have worried as everything from the initial design appointment to fitting and snagging felt really personal and welcoming, and truly focussed on what we needed out of our kitchen. The result is a kitchen that we think is both beautiful and functional!”

This project holds a special place in our hearts, it was one of the first ones we made in our workshop in Canterbury back in 2019 and we wish the client a lifetime of happiness in her new kitchen.
