The St Maragets Bay Project

‘'We went for Herringbone because of being able to have a truly bespoke kitchen and having it made by local craftsmen and a local company was appealing. Any minor snags were put right very quickly and the customer service and aftercare has been very good.’

Handleless brass door

When our lovely clients first bought their house in 2015, they renovated and separated the bottom floor into a self contained apartment that they put on Air BnB. However, as their first child got older (and noisier!) they decided they needed to integrate the house back together again and create living space.

Luckily for us, they approached Herringbone to help create a forever space that works for their whole family. ‘Since this is something we are only going to do once, we decided that the long term benefit was worth the extra price to get exactly what we wanted.’

We designed this door specifically with our client, who wanted a modern flat door, with a brass handless edge. The juxtaposition between the flint wall from the original home and the modern extension works perfectly together. The space is now one that the whole family can use together.

‘The kitchen / diner now is light and airy whereas before it was always dark and cramped. We can all flow freely around it and utilising half of the old kitchen space as a pantry gives us even more room for everything we need and helps us to keep the place more organised. The kids play around us as we prep and cook and it gives a much more relaxed feel.’

IN THIS KITCHEN

The clients chose our Cake Stand table over seating at the island, a place for homework that keeps the island clear. This is a lovely decision. Our Studio Collection handles complete this look

The Cake Stand Table
£2,950.00

Designed and made by our team here in Canterbury, the Cake Stand is a fun circular table. This table comes in 4 colours, Lilford Blue, Container Green, Coop Pink and Cathedral Stone. The worktop is a beautiful low silica porcelain, made in Italy. It is heat resistant and has high resistance to breakage and surface scratching, making it the perfect table top material.

Dimensions: 100cm (D) × 72.5cm (H) - Seats 4

If you would like to enquire about a bespoke version of this table, in any size, colour or worktop material, please get in touch and we can give you a costing for this.

Tables will go out for delivery 6 weeks from order.

The Studio Collection- Pulls
from £78.00

Our designers' favourite handle, and the one we reach for most often ourselves for its versatility. The Studio collection takes its cue from clean, contemporary design. Cabinet knobs, T-bar handles and pulls with the pared-back lines that let good design speak for itself.

Part of our Studio Collection. Every handle starts life as solid brass, then is hand-finished by skilled British artisans and crafted to order. This is hardware made to be handled for generations, passed down rather than replaced.

Choose from four signature finishes: Aged Brass, Satin Nickel, Polished Nickel, and Dark Bronze. All images are from Herringbone House projects.

Design · Make · Install

Their Interior Stylist, Daniella Harris from Mission Abode was instrumental in making sure everything fit together across the home.

A kitchen with wooden cabinetry, a white countertop, and a built-in coffee maker. The kitchen has a tiled floor and an open shelf with white and pink cups. There is a small open doorway leading to a pantry or small room with shelves and a microwave.

‘Before we couldn't eat meals in the kitchen, we used to eat in the space where the TV and dining table was in the front room. Now we have a dedicated space incorporating seating areas, we spend a lot more time in the kitchen and with the layout of the kitchen it's a lot more social when people are cooking. Everyone can be in the same space without the separation.’
