The Edgware Project
The Design
This project was for a lovely family living near Edgware, London who own A&H Brass, a company Herringbone uses for some of our hardware, so it was lovely to get to work together closely on their home project. The family wanted a classic design that will stand the test of time. Their previous kitchen was dated and hadn’t been done in 30 years, so they made the room bigger by taking out one wall between the kitchen and diner to open it all up.
“I love it! The island is now much bigger and we use it so much, it is my favourite part of the design. Everyone comments on the kitchen when they come in. I knew I wanted a shaker style kitchen and I let my daughter chose the colours. She went bolder with it than what I would have chosen, but I love it. The lay out is nicely done by the designers, nothing is too clustered so it is an easy space to cook in”

The design was all very smooth, the trickiest decision was the direction of which way to put the island. In the end they chose a way that the island can be slightly larger, to fit 3 stools and we are so pleased with the final decision.
The Details: Colours, Hardware, Worktops Etc
The garden is south facing which mean the space could really carry a deep colour. They chose our Tea Time Green for the cabinetry. The worktop was easy to decide, the clients chose Statuario Gold which works really well with the dark cabinetry. The clients widened their window and made it seamless with the worktop height, so that they would be easily able to see the garden from the kitchen.
The brushed brass handles look timeless against the cabinet colour are are from A&H Brass.
The storage is hidden everywhere in this kitchen, from sneaky drawers, corner pull-out options and of course the ladder that takes you to the higher up storage above the ovens.
