When we designed this space for a lovely client near Dockenfield the main goal was to give less of a kitchen feel to the space and create more of a sleek, modern and elegant space that could multitask. This includes design elements such as keeping the hob very discreate and tucking the larger appliances (aga and fridge) away so they are hidden from the initial views as you enter the space.
The cabinets are our Westgate Style, with traditional cornice and frames. The space was designed around the peninsular to enable the client to enjoy entertaining but also for them to be able to relax with a drink at the end of the working week.
The Details: Colours, Hardware, Worktops Etc
The modern kitchen space had to work within a quirky layout as part of an old Victorian house and fit around the original flooring. The cabinets are painted in Herringbone Paints Container Green and the internals are made from walnut wood helping to add another level of bespoke luxury to the space.
The antique mirror splash back, helps to open up the space whilst also being practical, which enhances the elegant cocktail bar vibe. The incredible tiles behind the Aga, is artwork that has been replicated onto the tiles and provides yet another stunning design element.
The alcove spaces have been used to their maximum abilities by incorporating a walk-in pantry unit as you enter the space and a large breakfast bar with bi-fold doors next to the large fridge freezer. Both have reeded glass for texture.
The light low-silica worktop has a large vein running throughout it, which gives the design a smooth sense of connectivity and elegance.
We wish the client a lifetime of happiness in their wonderful home.
