The Design
This kitchen offers an intriguing Californian and Mediterranean feel complemented by its natural materials and earthy tones. It’s a great open plan kitchen that truly makes use of every single space available. Not only is it great for socialising but it also connects the living space with the kitchen.
The bespoke L-shaped design has floor to cealing cabinets on either side of the Range Cooker stove and an L-shaped run of lower cabinets. The kitchen is full of hidden storage and small details that make it flow for day-to-day use and for socialising.
“I'd seen photos of other Herringbone kitchens and really liked their style. Herringbone gave us some great ideas for making the most of the space.”
The kitchen is our Westminster style and works well with the family’s needs in this fully renovated house. The main kitchen cabinetry is painted in a lovely light colour from the Herringbone Paints range, called Cathedral Stone after the beautiful Canterbury Cathedral, which when the light changes makes the atmosphere and hues change too. The island is panited in a lovelty green colour that helps bring the natural of the outside, inside. It’s beautiful.
The Details: Colours, Hardware, Worktops Etc
This kitchen has extraodinary attention to detail, and is packed full of storage both visual to the eye and hidden out of sight. From the Silestone Quartz worktop flowing throughout the kitchen to the prep sink on the island we love how this kitchen flows so smoothly in so many ways.
The large island is a particular great design feature as it looks neat from the living room side but offers functional storage for the family and a lovely social space for everyday living.
The hidden storage is lovely in this kitchen, from the corner cabinets to the space above the cooker, this kitchen packs it away in style. The Quooker tap serves as an elegant reminder of how this kitchen was designed to be lived in and used throughout the day. The seamless sink works really well and the worktop is a lovely fresh detail too.
The plugs in the drawers and under the island make it perfect to work from whether that is to do homework or office work. We love the detail in the drawers as you pull them out too, the organised storage is one of our key Herringbone style features and truly makes us smile.
We love a sink with a view! The double sink is seamlessly fitted around the worktop and is perfect for food prep and washing up. The choice of fittings work so well here as they again bring a warmth to the space and work well with the kitchen handles and colour tone.

The Walk-in Pantry
The walk-in pantry sits just next to the kitchen and is hidden behind reeded glass doors, matching the counter units in the kitchen. The worktop and Cathedral Stone cabinetry colour are carried through into the space, which connects the design in a lovely way.
“My favourite part of the kitchen is our walk-in pantry. This is something we had asked to include at the start but I hadn't anticipated how much we would actually be able to fit inside. Rob designed it to include our huge freestanding fridge freezer as well as ample shelving and storage space. It's made such a difference to the way I use my kitchen and I absolutely love it.”
