Green Notting Hill Kitchen & Walk-In Pantry
The Design
We recently completed this kitchen for a family in Notting Hill alongside interior designer Barlow & Barlow This design includes a cockpit shaped layout of kitchen units, banquette seating and pantry that works perfectly in a London townhouse.
The Details: Colours, Hardware & More
For their colour palette, our lovely clients went for a bespoke colour that we created for them, similar to Pewter Green by Sherwin Williams. This project is designed in our much slimmer shaker, the Westgate. We used brass hardware throughout the space in a combination of bar pulls and small rounded knobs. The knurled edges of these handles adds a bit of texture and a slightly industrial look to the kitchen.
A white quartz worktop from Silestone in ‘Calacatta Gold’ Polished finish was chosen as worktops all throughout the kitchen, including the island and inside the walk-in pantry. The two glass door wall units on either side of the extractor unit, display the family’s lovely collection of crockery whilst also breaking up the top units, making the space feel slightly lighter.
Wrapping all around the cockpit shaped kitchen run, small, square decorative ceramic tiles serve as a beautiful splashback. The slight difference of the colour tone in each tile, gives off a sophisticated, older, Mediterranean look to the kitchen.
The Walk-In Pantry
Probably one of the most spectacular elements of this kitchen is the walk-in pantry! With crittal style windows surrounding this little walk-in space, it allows all the natural light to pour inside. Two painted shelves wrap all the way around inside, as well as a cold shelf in the same quartz as the rest of the kitchen.
The clients made a very chic and clever choice by painting the top half of the door black to match the windows, and the bottom white to match the walls, giving this cool illusion.
The walk-in space shows off the personal style of the client with lovely tiling, wine fridge and brass shelving brackets tying everything together with the rest of the brass hardware in the kitchen, as well as adding a touch of glamour.
