East Dulwich Kitchen
We recently completed this project for a family in East Dulwich! This was such a fun project to work on, with bespoke cabinetry in our Rye range painted in Mylands’ famous ‘Bond Street’; a deep, navy blue.
When we asked our clients if they knew there was something they knew they wanted from the get go, they said:
“From the beginning of the process, we knew we needed a kitchen that was going to look beautiful and be super functional for the long term. We have both owned properties before, but have never had a kitchen that we have installed, and given how much time we spend in there and how much I love to cook, we wanted it to be perfect. I have also always wanted a larder- we had one when I was growing up, and I remember how useful it was, so I knew that was a must!”
Accessories
Our clients chose a classic combination of handles including our Bakes Pull handles for the larder door, Cotswold Cup Pulls for the drawers and integrated appliance doors and the Cotswold Bun Knobs for their cupboard doors; all in a gorgeous burnished brass finish. We asked our clients about their process when choosing a colour palette & hardware and they said:
“For the handles, we were very much guided by David- we wanted a classic look and love aged brass. In terms of choosing the colour scheme- we initially thought we would have a different colour for the island from the units, but once we (I!) chose the tiles for the backsplash, we decided to keep all the woodwork the same dark blue and have the small splash of colour from the tiles. We chose the Bond Street together, but the tiles were entirely my choice and required a bit of convincing! The worktops were a relatively simple decision- we wanted a light colour and something that was hard wearing without the staining (and cost) of marble.”
