Deal Seaside Kitchen
We recently completed this serene kitchen for a family of five in Deal!
The Design
This bespoke kitchen project consists of an L-shaped run of a mix of tall and base cabinetry units, a large, double pantry as well as a good sized kitchen island with a stunning waterfall edge on one side. This layout really helps keep the open plan kitchen / dinning / living room very airy and open.
“Following the renovation and extension of our home we realised that the kitchen was not maximising the space and we approached Herringbone Kitchens to redesign the kitchen to open up the living/ dining space.”
This clever corner in the L-shape run essentially combines a double larder with a counter top unit to keep the worktop continuing within the cupboard. This was a smart way to maximise storage space for this Deal based family and a great example of the bespoke nature of our designs.
Having a cold shelf in your cabinetry as well as your timber shelves is always a lovely option. The shelving is traditional zig-zag, handmade in our workshop.
The Bora hob sits on the kitchen island facing into the dinning & living rooms, making it an extremely social space to chat and keep an eye on children while cooking.
Our clients had this to say: “The Bora hob is a great innovation as it ensures there is no need for a conventional extractor hood and there are no distractions.”
The double larder features three oak shelves as well as a cold shelf storing all of the family’s cupboard food bits, three deep oak drawers and two painted spice racks with satin nickel bars to match the kitchens hardware.
The Hardware
For the cabinetry handles, the clients went for a satin nickel plate mix of our Cotswold Cup Pulls, Bakes Pulls for the larders and integrated fridge as well as oval knobs for the base cabinetry. This hardware finish beautifully compliments the ‘Myrtle Green’ and off white ‘Grosvenor Square’ colours by Mylands on the kitchen cabinetry, keeping the colour palette in the cool tones.
We asked our clients about their colour choosing process and they said:
“As for colour, we want to add a subtle colour that brings the outside in. We have had Silestone counter tops in previous kitchen and again this sets the kitchen off.”
You can view and purchase these handles as well as many others in a variety of finishes from our Pantry!
